The DJI Mic Mini 2S is an excellent lavalier microphone for solo creators, mobile journalists, and anyone who lacks the time or inclination to monitor audio levels and manually adjust gain during a shoot.
The microphone features 14.5 GB of built-in storage. This is enough for 28 hours of recording in standard 24-bit format or approximately 22 hours in 32-bit float.
The 32-bit float format captures a vast dynamic range; if the speaker suddenly shouts or whispers, the audio can be normalized during post-production without loss of quality or clipping.
The transmitter weighs just 12 grams. It attaches to clothing via a magnet or a rotating clip, and the front panels are interchangeable (available in various colors to blend in with clothing).
Up to two transmitters (TX) can be connected to a single receiver (RX) simultaneously.
An AI-powered, two-level noise cancellation system is included. The „Basic” setting suppresses fan hum and room echo, while „Strong” tackles aggressive street noise.
The transmitter connects directly to DJI Osmo cameras without the need for a receiver.
The charging case connects directly to a computer, transferring audio files at speeds of up to 34 MB/s (a 30-minute 24-bit recording transfers in about 8 seconds).
The transmitters provide around 10 hours of battery life on a single charge. The receiver lasts slightly longer—up to 11 hours.
The charging case can fully recharge the set approximately three times, offering a total of about 40 hours of operation away from a power outlet.
The microphones charge from 0% to 100% inside the case in just 70 minutes, while the case itself takes 2 hours to fully charge when plugged into a power source.
